Pick a device and a model, enter your cameras and detect fps, and get an estimate built from the real builds in the database. Every result is an estimate, and the builds behind it are listed so you can judge them yourself.

Behind this estimate
The builds this estimate uses
BuildSourceSpeedCamsFrigatePosted
Builds marked usable for stats with this device and model. Docs references are the Frigate project’s approximate numbers; community builds link to the post they came from. Flagged builds that are unusable for stats are left out.
How the estimate works
Three numbers, no magic
1 · Capacitydetectors × 1000 ÷ median inference msThe median of every usable build with this device and model. One detector doing 10 ms can run about 100 detections a second. MemryX reports throughput directly, so its median total fps is used instead.
2 · Demandcameras × detect fps × activityFrigate only runs the detector on frames with motion, so a quiet scene needs about a quarter of its detect fps and a busy one needs all of it. Quiet 0.25, Typical 0.5, Busy 1.0.
3 · Headroomdemand ÷ capacityUnder 60% is comfortable, 60–100% is tight (expect skipped frames when several cameras are busy at once), over 100% is overloaded. Resolution, motion masks, zones and your CPU all move the real number.
Builds flagged as unusable for stats are left out. Docs reference numbers come from the Frigate project's hardware page and are approximate. Want a better estimate for your device? Submit your build and it joins the median.
